Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The following questions and answers have been compiled based on requests for information received from interested individuals in the past. That said, if you have a question that is not answered below, please email conferencecommittee@evaluationcanada.ca

  1. Will the conference be both virtual and in-person?
    No. C2022 conference proceedings will take place in-person (subject to provincial health restrictions) over three consecutive days from June 13 to June 15, 2022. In accordance with existing provincial health restrictions, all attendees of the conference will be required to be fully vaccinated to attend the conference. No exceptions.
  2. When will workshops be held?
    Pre-conference workshops will be online June 11, 2022, and in-person on June 12, 2022, and will be delivered in English or French, at the workshop presenter’s choice. Simultaneous translation will not be offered for workshops.
  3. When will the conference schedule be available?
    An initial conference schedule, including conference sessions, will be posted by February 28, 2022.
  4. Will presentations and workshops be live or recorded?
    All presentations and workshops will be conducted live.
  5. What will be expected of presenters?
    Presenters will be expected to register for the conference, familiarize themselves with best practices for presentations, and be available to answer questions from the audience following their presentation.
  6. What will be expected of workshop facilitators? Workshop facilitators will be expected to register for the conference, familiarize themselves with online or in-person best practices for facilitation, and be available to answer questions from the audience during their workshop.
  7. Will technical guidance and support be provided to presenters and workshop facilitators for in-person and online presentations or facilitation?
    Yes. Various guidance and tools will be offered to presenters and workshop facilitators.
  8. Will there be social events?
    Yes. Social events will be based on delegate demand and cost recovery. Final offerings of social events will be posted on the conference website by February 28, 2022.
  9. Will simultaneous interpretation be available at the conference?
    Simultaneous interpretation from English to French will only be available during plenary sessions.
  10. Will there be a CES Educational Fund Student Case Competition this year?
    Yes. The final round of the Student Case Competition will be hosted on June 14, 2022. Details will be available in the final conference program available by May 30, 2022, on the conference website.
  11. When will registration open?
    Early-bird registration for the C2022 conference opens on March 7, 2022. Registration closes on June 9, 2022. Additional registration information is available on the C2022 website.
  12. What will the pricing be for the conference?
    Conference fees can be found on the C2022 website. Please note that these fees are reflective of operating costs and contribute to CES generating sufficient profit to maintain services for members.
  13. Do I need to be a CES member to participate in the 2022 CES Conference?
    No. Members and non-members are encouraged to participate in the conference. However, all participants need to register for the conference and CES members will be given a discount on the registration fee. Individuals that have registered for the conference will have exclusive access to all workshops (i.e., online and in-person). Workshops will become available to individuals that have not registered for the conference two weeks prior the start of the conference depending on availability.
  14. What is included in my conference fee and what do I need to purchase separately?
    The basic conference fee includes access to plenary events and concurrent presentations. Additional fees are charged for optional pre-conference workshops and social events.
  15. How do I add a workshop to my registration? Are workshops included in the conference registration?
    You can register for in-person pre-conference workshops on the registration form. The price of workshops is in addition to the conference registration fee. Registration fees can be found on the conference website.
  16. I only want to attend one day of the conference, is that possible?
    No. Registration is only available for the entire conference.
  17. Can I only register for a workshop and not attend the conference?
    In-person conference registrants will be given exclusive priority to register for both online and in-person workshops. Should there be space left in a workshop four weeks prior to the conference, registration might be opened up to all.
  18. Can I cancel or transfer my registration to another person?
    Refunds will be given for requests received in writing marked no later than the end of day May 12, 2022, less an administration fee of $100; send an email to secretariat@evaluationcanada.ca. All refunds will be issued by June 30, 2022. After the cancellation deadline, we regret that no refunds will be granted; however, we will accept substitute delegates. The substituting party is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution as well as updating all contact information.
  19. Is there funding available to help with registration costs?
    C2022 has some funds to support the attendance of three types of delegates who have had a presentation accepted in the program that identify as Metis, First Nation, or Inuit and/or full-time graduate students in Canada. Additional funding support is available for Indigenous delegates.
